I'm sitting in the JQ OOL Lounge as we speak...I thought i'd shell out the $5 discounted entry and take a look, albeit reluctantly given my annoyance that QP and QF Status members aren't given free entry.
Imagine my surprise when I found that they've just taken the old OOL QP, repainted it, extended it out and plonked their name on it, but yet we're not allowed entry.
It's interesting sitting here, overhearing the poor guy on reception who has the unenviable job of repeating himself all day to QP members that they can't come in without paying $25 (i've only been in here 15 mins and already i've lost count how many times i've heard of it.)
As far as a lounge goes, JQ have managed to take what was one of my favorite airline lounges and turn it into a bland, overlit, boring lounge space which offers little aside from a bit of peace and quiet.
I am surprised it isn't busier given the cheap discounted rate on offer, but I can only hope that if it continues to remain busy, someone at QF will pull their fingers out and give QP/Status members access like they IMHO have a right too.
So anyway, the long and the short is don't waste your money, its definately not worth $25, and i'll be writing a letter to QF when I get back from my trip to express my disappointment at their entrance policy...hopefully if enough of us do, we'll get them to change their ridiculous entry policy.
