Hi all,

I have booked a JQ star class OOL-CNS-KIX-CNS-OOL. As the JQ flts change on the CNS-KIX & KIX-CNS leg I should pick up about 360 status points for about $1,400.This is on a Mon Dep OOL and a Sun rtn from KIX in June. $3.90 per status credit is great ! Or have I got it wrong?

Thks,

TonyBne

I stand corrected, there is an A330 that does JQ23 to CNS on somedays with a change of flight number to KIX, so yes its not a bad earner ;), pity its on JQ.

JQ Star class is really PE. But a good little MR as it posts in J for status points.
Need them this year to keep WP. Very little work related travel :(

Is that a sale fare or standard? Sounds very enticing… and I’ll have to remember it’s there in the future.

The NAN run offers the same SCs for similar or lower $$$ considering the $699 is a promo airfare and its $1050 normally! Its also an ugly connection on the return, with 7 hours in CNS after a 5AM arrival then a non starclass seat to OOL, so I doubt you would get the starclass credits for that leg.

I wonder how often and when that A330 will connect to OOL, could not find it for August flights?

Nice little catch for the OP.

I am thinking there will bit a bit of moving around in the coming month as JQi integrate new equipment into their schedule.

I guess it may be worth keeping an eye out ....

I saw similar when looking for flights to NRT in early 2010. Not only from OOL with a CNS change but also I think from both SYD and MEL with the changes taking place in OOL. IIRC.

There are plenty of starclass fares that have connections to CNS on A320 equipment, I would be curious to see what credited to QF but suspect it would be Y credits in that case.

Yeah there are plenty of those but there are also some JQi flights. I'll do so searches to see if I can reproduce what I've seen previously. A matter of sorting the wheat from the..., well maybe finding a needle in the haystack.

Looks like its only good for a limited time, explains why I could find none in Aug:

As per 02DEC10 GDS timetable display, jetStar is to adding Airbus A330-200 service on Gold Coast – Cairns terminator flight from 27MAR11 to 29JUL11.
Overall frequencies on this route increases from Daily to up to 13 weekly.
Schedule below:

JQ023 OOL0810 – 1045CNS 332 x6
JQ024 CNS0715 – 0920OOL 332 x7
JQ023/024 does not operate from 28APR11 to 08MAY11. Service operates 5 weekly (Day x67) from 09MAY11 to 15JUL11, 3 weekly (Day 145) from 18JUL11 till 29JUL11.

I just found the following:
Sunday 15 May JQ15 SYD-CNS, JQ25 CNS-NRT
Friday 20 May JQ26 CNS-NRT, JQ16 CNS-SYD

Quick random check and the combination is there for 14 August (Sun) and 22 August (Mon) for the return.

MEL-NRT in both August and May seems involve domestic JQ - I must have imagined seeing that option.

Oops I didn't really look at the price but there were some starclass promos at about $780 each way, not including CC surcharges and such.
