Apologies for the seemingly obvious q, but I have not flown Jetstar since 2005 (717s!!)

I have a joint QF/JQ booking next week. The QF platinum line gave me the jetstar booking ref and suggested I ring them to organize seating.

I rang, and found out that I am in middle seats (23B) both ways! They said I have to pay for aisle or window. Is there no effect on seat allocation for being WP?

What about the lounge in SYD T2? Can I use it?

You can use SYD T2 lounge no problems. I've had hit and miss on joint QF/JQ bookings - 1C / 6C / No allocation in the past. Just try your luck on online checkin? Others may have different experiences.

At JQ, a WP isn't treated any differently to a first-time flyer who bought a $1 ticket. You can choose your seat at OLCI, or pay a nominal fee to have a seat allocate it now. If I remember correctly, you'll be charged extra if you want to be in the first few rows, and extra leg-room seats (e.g. exit rows) will cost quite a bit as well. You'll also be able to use QP on departure.

Nope, JQ customer service quoted $12 per sector. I will go DJ next time on this route.

The QF platinum line gave me the jetstar booking ref...
Instead of ringing, go to the Jetstar website "Manage booking" section, enter your details and see what options pop up. Seats vary in price depending on location and flight distance, but you will be able to see what is available and what they are charging for it, on your specific flights.

When flying Jetstar check in and seating doesn't recognize your Qantas Platinum status.

If you want better seating then you have to pay anywhere from $2(3,4) up to $12.00

Just check in early and then you can get a good seat.
