Just seeking some reassurance/clarification here.

I'd always thought JQ *class seat pitch was same as QF domestic - 38 inches. And searching on trip reports and the like seems to back this up.

But the JQ website states, under the *class tab, "Lovely wide leather seats, each with a 30 inch seat pitch, give you plenty of room to move".

I'm guessing this is a typo, but wondering at the same time if there has been a recent change of some type...

Cheers

PS. I'm researching a possible Bali trip for my mum.

My experience puts it on a par with QF domestic business class (not surprisingly) 30 inch would be quite tight!

It is not 30inch! It is similar (same?) to QF domestic. 2D however has several feet! :)

Don't leave until the 17th back 25th

Will be first time in Syd F Lounge before flight due to recent US trip of 1100SC hope it lives up to hype

It will. PER is a bit far away, but if I lived in ADL, I would route vie MEL or SYD for international connections for the lounge!

As I am in PER, I only get to sample the lounges when I fly to NZ or the USA.

Correct 30 inch is in economy... 38 sounds right for star class. It is the same as QF domestic, the config of the planes really did not change when they went to JQ.

It will live up to the hype. Lap it up, then lap it up some more. Get to checkin three hours prior, forget duty free just motor on up to the Flounge.
My next visit is Christmas day, six months away and already thinking about the bubbles.

That's some high praise - would you similarly rave about the MEL F lounge, or is SYD simply where it's all at?

Making a side-trip on the DONE4 to AKL in November, currently departing MEL on QF25 (sadly not the 744) and Mrs Djf is 55 SCs short of WP - is it worth finding a way to rack up those SCs for a visit to the MEL F lounge, or wait for a chance to get to SYD later on?

I take it 2D is considered best in the cabin?

I have booked this rtn to Hawaii in August

Seat 2D has its pros and cons.

I booked 2D last year MEL-BKK and it was fine - there was no-one in the middle of the block of three and so me and 2F could use the space to put our video units and drinks etc.

Coming back 2D was taken and I ended up in 1E - which was actually very good.

I am over 6'3 and there was plenty of room in front of the seat to set up my cabin bag as a foot-stool and have a very comfortable ride. The same space applies for 1AB (or is it 1A and C??) and 1 HK.

You can do the same in 2D (using cabin bag as foot stool) but it does kind of stick out into the aisle a little and feels a bit awkward.

My preference now is for row 1 (any seat, but avoid HK if you can as the crew sit and chat in the galley at night and can be a bit of a problem), then 2D.

I've done both 1E and 2D and rate 2D best, 1E not far behind. (1E has that space to the left in front of the 2D leg space to put stuff)

YMMV

What about the back row (row 6).
Should be able to fully recline without imposing on anyone behind.
