How to earn double Qantas Points

  1. Register between 12.01am (AEST) 8 May 2019 and 11.59pm (AEST) 13 May 2019.
  2. Book a Qantas operated international flight with a QF flight number between 8 and 13 May 2019, for travel between 14 May 2019 and 24 April 2020.

My question - is it targeted? I'd like to get mrs WF registered as well......

Happy wandering
Fred

A few others got this but the T&Cs state that it is not transferable. Appears targeted.

Appears targeted. Haven't got it yet. Some have received DOUBLE STATUS CREDITS email too. I'm not lucky yet, but let's see

Wife received double points on international, me nothing.

Well without the Mrs getting an offer I will have registered without booking anything. Double SCs maybe but the expected trip is three of us in October so no great incentive to buy too early...

Hmmm. Looks like they are rationing the DSC offers and pineapple got the dliuted version. Mrs Pineapple again got nothing...

This is my "time and a half" offer:
Fly to Sydney, get 50% more Status Credits
Dear Pineapple, ... For a limited time, you'll be rewarded with 50% more Status Credits on eligible flights with a QF flight number on your ticket.* ... Simply register and make a new booking between 7 May 2019 and 13 May 2019 for travel from 7 May 2019 to 4 September 2019.

Thrilled to bits. 15 SCs each way instead of 10 for an e-deal .

I thought it may have been generated because I was looking at flight prices BNE-SYD and MCY-SYD a couple of nights before, but looks like part of a bulk offer. Perhaps if I hadn't looked I would have got a DSC offer instead. Or possibly I only got offered time and a half because I already have a DSC visit to NZ in the upcoming bookings. Curious.

There are some international fares on sale until 14 May...

I got a double points offer to PER for travel until 30 June 2019.

No thanks.
One of my email aliases is registered for my F-I-L unused for 5 years QFF account. That account also received the Perth offer. The Mrs and I, active travellers, did not get any offer, :(

I think anyone can get the double points. Have been told by many in the know, that forward bookings are awful, so many airlines have insanely low sale fares like the recent $750 return to LAX or SFO from BNE, SYD or MEL & the $669 return OOL/SFO. Qantas doesn't match these fares, but instead offers double points. Noticed when the $750 was around few weeks ago, Qantas cheapest was $949 + double points. Points are cheap for airline. Better to give them away than drop fare by $200

Agree that points are cheap for airline. Especially if you were to convert (not that anyone would) points to cash equivalent, it's very less (my math tells me that every QF point is worth 0.023 dollars). So it's better for the airline to give away points, which the customer can redeem for flights or buying toasters :)

I haven't flown to PER for ages.

It would appear that I've now received a new email with the international flights.

I got not one or two but THREE double points offers a month ago all within a months span.

Offers were for double points for flights to Perth, a week later for the United States of America and finally it was Fiji I believe on their new route.
I also got a targetted 50% bonus SC offer during that time too with the usual “marketed and operated by QF” T&Cs.

It almost felt like QF were getting a tad desperate for bookings.

Seniors moment. Just realised the thread offer discussed was double points, not DSCs. Booked the flights MCY-SYD for - yee har - 5 extra SCs each way. QF seem to have my measure.

Also suspect flagging bookings. QF dropped the price SYD-MCY from $179 to $129 each way the night before I booked, a rare win :). Many/most flights BNE-SYD and v.v. were $189 at the same time QF marketing spiel was advertising cheapest fare $203. Seems marketing people (#fail) out of step with sales people.
