Just got Gold

What sort of benefits can I expect and where are the best places to use Gold Priority Club?

Hi Isochronous,I have been gold for a while and I find my experience changes depending on the hotel, but I tend to get upgraded to a suite about 50% of the time. I get 10% uplift on points which does not mean much and sometimes I get welcome chocolates and fruit.

I agree it does depend on the hotel, I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Christchurch at Christmas just gone and was upgraded to a suite on the club floor and use of club facilities. Sadly this hotel is no longer in operation and may need to be demolished as a result of the Feb earthquake that hit the city.

I have also stayed at CP surfers a number of times, they normally give me a higher floor and a nice letter with some chocolates etc and a newspaper which is nice. I have had nothing from the HI Brisbane the two times I stayed there as a gold, about to stay at the CP near Sunshine Coast (the old Ramada Golf Resort) next week so will report back on that one.

I am now Platinum but as a Gold back in April I had a 3 night stay in HI Silom Bangkok and was upgraded to a really nice suite with complimentary fruit, chocolates and water then a week later I had a 2 night stay at the same hotel and only received the complimentary fruit and water.

Around the same time I also stayed at the HI Burswood and HI Pattaya and did not even get complimentary water at Burswood.
