I reckon ... :

The airline said it was dark at the time and the kangaroo got caught in the propeller.

Departing Albury the other night, and as just after they'd started the roll, discontinued the takeoff. Quick u turn, back to the end, and off again. Apparently a fox decided it would be a good time to cross.

Many years ago, was on board an RFDS KingAir - landing - a large goanna decided it was time to cross the runway towards the end of the landing roll.

Kingair 1, Goanna 0. Big tyre mark up the middle of the goanna. Kingair - no damage (but was grounded until thorough inspection done).
