Hi all,

I am planning a trip to Japan and Korea with my partner around July/August 2017 and looking to book SYD-SIN-NRT-SIN-BNE in J using KF points redemption – he will use points and also pay for a few legs. The points redemption calculator on the SIA website indicates that I will need a total 110,500 points for this (factoring in 15% discount) for award seats. So I have a few queries that I hope someone can help with.

1.We are flying SIA to retain our status with VA, hence why we are purchasing a full flexi fare (Y/B/E) to get SC as well. I’m slightly confused with how this will work and would like some clarification. As I want these flights to accrue SC and velocity points, am I still able to upgrade with KF points on the SIA website if I purchase the fare from them directly? My understanding is that I can just enter my FF program as VA in the passenger details on their website as I’ve done in the past and then use Redeem an upgrade with points. I will transfer the required points from Velocity – KF beforehand.

2.What are the chances that any of these legs would use aircraft with PE? The SIA website has this term for upgrades.

Please note that upgrade award tickets are offered on a one-class upgrade basis. Upgrades from Economy Class to Business Class are only applicable to flights without Premium Economy Class.

I prefer to fly the A380 out of Sydney, B777-200/300 are used to and from NRT and SIN-BNE (SQ 245) has recently changed to the B777-200.

Thanks,
