it's just that some people on this forum have been saying the SABRE cutover must have been hurting VA due to lost fares. Where as the truth is the opposite when you look at the overall picture.
The truth? THE TRUTH? You must be kidding right? You take a media interview as gospel?
Perhaps, JB wanted to talk up the downside. He wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't but cut through your so called truth to see what he was really saying:
1) Operators are letting pax get away with some wins through their own stupidity (thanks heaps JB, from the bottom of my wallet)
2) Sabre is great (clearly it's not)
3) QF stuffed up and if they hadn't VA would have been curtains (not a good look for a CEO......a lucky gambler rather than a cagey businessman)
4) TT is another gamble which may or may not work (2nd time lucky perhaps, Packer would love this guy)
Now let's look at reality.....
1) Sabre is a mess and in reality the ONLY wins pax are having is because of VAs own stuff ups (stop trying to shed blame to others Mr JB);
2) VA are changing T&Cs left, right and centre without notification, which is against their own policies (can anyone at VA actually read); and
3) gambling might pay off in the short term, but very few get away with it in the long term.
Honestly caskings, the big picture is far bigger than what you, JB or I have mentioned so please do not speak of truth. It was an internet interview for heavens sake. Perhaps JB is the cagey businessman we all hope (up to a point) he is, but that interview did absolutely nothing to prove anything one way or the other and I doubt JB was even telling the truth when he said "Great to speak to you Steve" and from there it went all down hill (in my estimation at least).
