Tena koutou,

Ryan and I have been directed by a friend we found on the international connecting bus at the airport in Sydney in 2014. The lovely couple offered us their spare lounge passes and has now introduced us to this world as we were sharing the same flight home (for us) to Christchurch. We were so excited to step foot into a lounge and we told many people when we returned home. We look forward to the world of knowledge you all have to share with us

Welcome aboard, Tai.

Don't forget to point out to your friends, that it was the Qantas First Class Lounge in Sydney (known as a FLounge). There is an ocean of difference between F Lounges and ... well... daylight!

Kia Ora!

It can all be a bit mind boggling at first and.... even a few years down the track! But incredibly useful. And addictive:shock:

Keep in mind that unless you've got accounts in Oz we don't get to accrue the same number of points to Qantas and Virgin Australia that Aussies do with their credit card deals.

Air NZ has the Airpoints credit cards so hope you're using one of those currently.
The platinum edge AMEX costs $149 annual fee but offers a complimentary domestic flight free every year but has to be direct and if you don't book far enough in advance you may have to pay a small fee. Seat + bag fare and you accrue APD/SP earn. I think we had to pay $20 for a flight AKL-Dunedin. You can accrue reward points to them then transfer to 7 carriers. Its good earning on supermarkets and petrol but you obviously need a back up card for where it's not accepted.

There's lots to learn. Have fun!
