I am currently on a QF ticket, and need to change my return flight from BOM to SYD.

My original ticket is QF on both legs, BOM-SIN-SYD.

On the date that I need to travel, QF does not fly BOM-SIN, and I have a choice of Kingfisher or Jet. I don't know anything about either of them. Both flights are within about 20 minutes of each other, so that is not an issue. I will be in economy....:-|

(As an aside, I was trying to change my flights online at qantas.com , but there was no button to do this on "Manage my booking". I called QF to ask why, and they weren't sure, but they were adamant that I would have to pay a $80 service fee to have them do it... anyone had any luck with them waiving this... when making my booking, it did state that I would be able to change it online)

Dunno about the question in your aside adrian, but Kingfisher is as yet only a oneworld member elect. From news on the oneworld web site:

A firm date for Kingfisher Airlines to join the alliance and start offering its services and benefits will be announced as its implementation programme progresses.

I've flown Jet and they were pretty good. but make sure you get a QF flight number to get SC's and points!

I've been on a Jet-operated flight BOM-SIN, QF 3950 - not a bad flight, and QF points/SCs. That was on a fairly new A330, which was a pretty pleasant aircraft, actually - had the best Y headrests I can remember!

Nothing wrong with Jet in general in the 5 flights or so I've done with them (although they don't seem to keep terminal information screens very up to date, so you need to keep an eye and an ear out for stuff happening with your flight). Never tried Kingfisher in comparison though.

I am flying in J on Jet later this year - looks to be herringbone layout so flat beds which will be nice. I too will be flying on a QF flight number :)

Managed to have it waived. Apparently it was because one of the outgoing sectors had been upgraded, that was considered a change to the booking and made the rest of the booking ineligible to change online. Not sure why that would be the case, but that was the reason I was given (another agent had said it was because I had a CX flight in the booking). Anyway, nice consultant managed to have it waived this time, but the first consultant was adamant that she wouldn't....
