I am about to field a pretty basic question, & I can already hear the howls of laughter so please go easy on me.:)
I understand that when you attain Elite Silver your mileage accrual goes up by 25% of actual miles flown. How does this affect your mileage accrual if you are flying business class and your milage accrual is already at 125% of miles flown? I would not think you would accrue miles with the Business and Silver Elite status combined (i.e. 125% loading on Business miles already earned at 125%) but I would love someone to tell me I am wrong.:)

If you are Silver on Business ticket,
The "loading" is 25% for Business, and 25% again for Silver.

So if the basic mileage is 1000, you get 1000 + 250 (for Business) + (25% of 1250 for Silver)= 1562.50.

Thank you for telling me I am wrong deluxeflyer, this is the news I was hoping to hear.:) Have you experienced this situation with Krisflyer, I see you name suggests you may have?

Not sure about deluxeflyer, but I have experienced this situation on several occasions, so definitely how it works.

One point of clarification though for elite mileage accrual (ie for determining the miles required to go from silver to gold), the status bonus doesn't count (but the class bonus does).

So travelling in business class as a silver you get 150% KF miles (for redemption) and 125% elite miles (for consideration of status). Hope I haven't confused you, but that's the way it works!

Thank you dajop, your explanation is quite clear. I can accumulate milage at roughly 150% and status, eg, from silver to gold, at 125%.

Thank you deluxeflyer for confirmation. I am surprised (pleasantly of-course) that the additional status earn is so good and am looking forward as I intend to be flying a bit over the coming year, maybe even in Business.

BTW I noticed that you chose to spell your name in the style of a real class traveller. This would be of-course the only way to tavel. :)
