When you say "the same", what do you mean? If you mean, ie you can go online and get flights for using points (plus some cash for surcharges), then it is the same.

However each partner program has different features, the obvious one being that Krisflyer allows you to book Singapore Airlines + Star Alliance partners, whereas Qantas points allow you to book Qantas + Jetstar+ Oneworld (and some other) partners.

The number of points will vary depending on where you go and what class you book in. Generally, Krisflyer require less or the same number of points as QF, but this is not always the case.

The range of destinations offered by both is quite broad - the main limitation with Krisflyer is you cannot book domestic travel within Australia due to the absence of a domestic partner, whereas obviously with Qantas you can.

Yes it is that easy (in theory:!:). You just go online login, and put in your dates and destinations like any booking engine, and remember you get a 15% discount for booking online. In practice it can be difficult at times to get awards (as it is with any program), although generally they are relatively easy to come by and there a few issues with booking engine at times, but generally it's pretty easy.
