Hi all,

My first time posting in the QF forum as i'm usually with the other mob!

I've just had a weird experience with QF/ JQ. Basically, i'm a QF member but don't fly them a lot as i'm gold and a lounge member over at DJ. I fly Jetstar a bit (usually on routes that QF don't fly and DJ don't fly often - that's a big part of how i ended up with DJ) and managed to rack a lot of qualifying travel on Jetstar in October, November and December last year. The flights were full fare domestic and Star class international.

Basically, i made 260 SCs worth of that wasn't credited. Before Xmas i contacted QF FF through their site and asked why i'd never been crdited for these flights. I got the email saying they were looking into it but nothing else ever happened. In the end i gave up and wrote it off.

Now i just checked my QF account for the first time in ages and discoved that the flights (06 October was the first one) were finally credited at the end of March. That's ages! This is very annoying as my qualification period ends at the end of June - i can probably get to silver but i would probably have taken a shot at gold if they'd given me a clue that i was actually racking up the points. Just curious whether this is normal with JQ flights on QF?

Also, if i try to do a few more JQ flights to clock up to silver, are they likely to be credited in time?

Hi 777,

I can't comment on the delay, I have only flown 1 sector on JQ and that was MEL-SYD via JQi and the points/SC's posted next day.

But if you do fly again the delay would not ruin your chances of PS as they look at the date earnt not posted and would then update your membership to PS.

Good luck if you aim for PS, but it really is not worth spending any money on unless you need the flights.

From my own experience, the delay in Jetstar is fairly typical. 4 out of 5 *class legs took over 6 weeks to credit, generally after calls to QFF and in 1 case to Jetstar because my QFF number was in the wrong field of the booking record. Seems their IT systems just aren't up to the task of easily processing the flights across. QFF staff seem used to the complaints.

QFF staff are good at chasing the points down if you have a good reason (eg I reached PG with Jet* SCs and wanted to arrange it for Mrs Aus ATC before an O/S trip).

I just wait the maximum times as per the QF website (14 days), then put a claim in for the points. I normally get the points within a few days after doing that.

I have a theory that mine never go through because I have an uncommon title in my QF profile that obviously doesn't match by JQ booking.
