Lack of reward seats after changes

Looking at Brisbane to Sydney, used to be a considerable number of 7,800 flights almost every day. Now they are all 21,700 points with every few days few 7am flights for 7,800. I can see Virgin changes are a big "fck you" to everyone who has put up with their awful company for all these years. This is from someone who has been in their top .1% of ff since 2015

When are you wanting to fly? In the next few weeks? During school holidays? In peak hours?

Looking on a random midweek date in mid-August, there are tons of 6200 point awards available, and even the remaining flights are 7800 points...

And 3 months ago I started looking at BNE-DPS awards for March 2024. Those that showed up were well over 100K points. I wasn’t dreaming so I ended up getting revenue tickets as VA was even cheaper than JQ and Malindo or Garuda in J.

So their scheme worked.

Yep, same here. It's great if you want to fly across the country to, say, KNX for which I've seen reward seats in the region of 20k - 30k. Not so great if you're wanting to do a cheaper local hop, however. Shame - because sometimes those little local MEL - SYD or MEL - ADL are totally useful.

Had to help my mother book a last minute next day flight to ADL - one reward seat was available in J and, although no reward seats as such in Y, there was one of those 37k rewards (or something to that effect) in Y. And that was for flying ex-MEL on a Friday morning, so not bad, but I'm guessing this wouldn't be the case every week. Must have been rather quiet last week!
