Hi all
I have locked in travel to NZ in July. My plan is to fly LAN to AKL and then JQ to WLG. I can get the reasonable J fare SYD-AKL on LAN (same price as QF whY :shock and with a bit of wiggle have the extra baggage and seat selection on JQ AKL-WLG-AKL.
The driver for the LAN flight is that I need to be in WLG for a full day and there is no way to spend a full day in WLG and get back to Oz that day (last flight is around 5PM which means leaving the office at 2PM and even for me that isnt a full day) so I am staying the night at AKL airport and flying back the next morning on the 5:30AM flight.
So the question is - can I check my bags through SYD-AKL-WLg or do I need to collect in AKL and re check in? I have 2 - 3 hours connection time in AKL so not concerned about timing. I am just considering whether to check a bag or take it on board as I am only there for two nights.
Also wondering whether I can check through to WLG from SYD?
