Hello all,

First post after the gent of the AFF admin link fixed my login.

Enjoyed reading posts so far - very relevant and some excellent tips.

I am a Perth based expat who came for a holiday in 83 and never left

QFF Silver/Gold depending on the year & Club member which keeps the missus happy when we travel.

Don't bother with the hotel cards as use so many different ones, cannot see the value of getting yet another card which I probably never use (last count 18 different bits of plastic in my wallet of various types!!).

Most domestic trips are WA internal (3+) and Melbourne & Sydney (about 2+ a year).

International are Asia for family hols with any airline PLUS usually 3+ with QA for family & work to Europe annually.

Allowed to look after Europe managers by my organisation - I pay and book Perth to Europe flights, they pay accom at different cities when working and city to city flights in Europe. I get to see family and friends and claim tax deductions for part of my flights - majority of trip is work related.

I can package the flights or pay and claim deductions.

Excellent system which lets me see unwell parents, gets the work done and keeps us all happy!!

6'4" (195cm) so always fly QA so I can select my seat.

Find QC very useful when things go pear shaped (about 1 in 10 trips has major issue and 1 in 5 a "glitch/short delay").

Careful with money & points - I pay usually so economy will do me fine if I can get the right seat. Can sleep on planes with legroom so certain seats on the 380 are perfect.

Only use my points internationally in high season as QA's so called taxes and fees are getting ridiculous. Mainly use points for domestic - $80 taxes beats $900+ taxes on a UK trip!!

Cheers

Chris
