Two weeks ago I purchased an Asus EEE PC 1000HE Netbook ( 9 hour battery life ) for $399 at Catchoftheday.com.

Yesterday, catchoftheday, announced that today at 12.00 noon "our best laptop deal ever" and "expect something unbeleivable"
For those not familiar with catchoftheday, they have a special deal each day for 24 hours only or until stock runs out.

So there maybe an opportunity to upgrade your laptop today on a good deal.

I think I'll replace my netbook mid-late next year (currently have a HP MiniNote 2140 which is about 8 months old).

Looking forward to 10+ hours of battery life. My current laptop has between 5 and 6 (and of course the battery is slowly degrading), which is ok as I can often find power points to recharge it, but would of course prefer a much longer battery life.
