Last-Minute MEL-SYD Day Trip 28 May (DJ Lounge/QF F Lounge)

OK as suggested by a few people in the new MEL DJ Lounge thread, i'm suggesting a last-minute day trip to SYD.

Purpose being an OMGO'clock visit to the new shiny MEL DJ Lounge, followed by a leisurely lunch at the F Lounge in SYD.

QF009 and I are already going to be at the DJ Lounge at OMGO'clock on Saturday 28th in MEL, although he's not heading to SYD, I am. Thought i'd gauge interest in a quick run.

There's some $88 DJ flights up and JQ35 is showing as $79 still, so it's not a bad deal.

Of course if you're willing to go an hour or two later, it'll jump up to around $139 for the DJ flight up.

If I wasn't in Darwin this weekend I may have put my hand up. I'm thinking of doing something silly like this to get a look at the lounge

Was just doing the logistics in my head - BNE-MEL(QF) MEL-SYD (DJ) SYD-MEL (JQ) - MEL-BNE (QF)
I have a stack of DJ points sitting around so might be in - let me look at flights and costs etc - wish I had of seen this yesterday - or that you posted yesterday before the QF sale ended... though if QF is on par - there will be another sale on Thursday.

I'm on the 7:45am flight out of MEL, so it may be a bit early.

Of course the other option is, people fly to MEL on Friday evening, drinks and frivolity at 18o6 and other venues ensue, and the 'all day barista' service is employed to nurse our hangovers upon arrival at the DJ lounge

Always up to entertain out of towners for beverages!

There's a Virgin Promotion that WP and SG members who are flying with them will be permitted use of the SYdney and Melbourne Lounges from Thursday May 26 until July 22.

Brisbane-Sydney-Melbourne-Gold Coast is an interesting way to get to the Gold Coast.

Pity there is no 6:35pm departure MEL-OOL on Virgin Blue Saturday evening.

Why oh why is the last DJ flight back to Canberra on a Saturday at 3pm?

If it wasn't for that little annoyance I'd be half tempted to come as I have absolutely nothing planned for this weekend.

Will have to skip this time around and visit the lounge next week instead

Hmm, yeah I might delay my trip as well. Would have been nice this weekend, but am just about to give $3K or so to Qantas for another set of flights, so there's my flight budget gone this week!
