Cool new addition to the latest update to QFF phone app. You can now see an estimated wait time for calling the contact centre.

This is with iOS app version 4.12.0.

(Note that I am WP which may explain the low estimate in my screenshot šŸ˜…)

Other features on this update include seeing inbound flight status and being able to fill out your passport info by providing a scan of your passport page during app check-in.

If only it showed estimated wait time to speak to Hobart ....
Not surprisingly, its taking a while for Qantas IT to get a handle on how to code the two scenarios:

  • Plat ... "Its estimated to take 4 minutes to talk to someone in Hobart who can fix the issue."
  • Non-plat ... Little animation of hell slowly freezing over... followed by "Your issue will be made worse in 3 hours by the cheapest consultant we could find..."

Click the help icon on the top left of the Home Screen, then proceed through one of the options and youā€™ll eventually land on a ā€œContact Usā€ page with the estimated time.
Ahh I see, yeh I do have it didn't realise you had to click all the way through first, it seems like a positive improvement because not only does it tell the wait time but also appears to skip the menu.

On a different note the apps showing I have a $50 hotels voucher but I don't, I used it on a booking but had to cancel and didn't get the voucher back (I assume they're not returned).

I see that page which appears to be imbedded web link, inder v4.11 on android(play store doesn't yet have the 4.12 update for me)

It also says 4 minutes which is.. suspiciois and probably rubbish lol

Interesting that the number you dial can perhaps vary depending on your circumstances or answers to the questions.

First, if you have a regular QFF enquiry, outside of support times, you won't get an estimate. Hint: they're closed.

But I did a dummy go through of options...

...and I was given this number to dial...

...and I was given this number to dial...

The numbers after the comma should route through to a particular call centre department. Maybe 462278 (HOBART) is the magic code?

I just called 02 91236072 and got "Welcome to Qantas click to call".

it asks for "the 6digit code displayed on your screen". so @sudoer the one given to @anat0l probably does put them through to Hobart. Hmmmm. šŸ’”

It's +61 2 91236072 ?Options 5,2,0,2,7,2

I think the New South Wales number being with nine means that it goes offshore through an internal system.

The +61 will mean it will work even if youā€™re using the app from outside Australia.
Despite all that, only QF could make it more difficult than it needs to beā€¦.

The number appears to change quite regularly, my guess is that itā€™s unique to you and the selections you made on the app. I would probably avoid sharing the numbers on the forum.
