Hi there

I signed up for the Le Club Accor free status promo a couple of months and will finally have a chance to give it a go in a few weeks. I am about to book 3 nights at the Novotel Perth Langley. Will probably just go for the cheapest rate/room available. My question is, what is the best way to go about getting an upgrade/other plat benefits?
1. Just book online, enter the plat number and hope for the best
2. Book online and call the hotel a few days prior to check-in to enquire about possibility of upgrade
3. Book directly with the hotel over the phone and request upgrade at time of booking
4. Request upgrade at checkin
5. Something else?

Has anyone had any experience with Le Club Accor Plat recognition at this hotel and to what extent it is recognised?

Thanks in advance!

You may try all/any of the above and report back..

With le Club Accor (nee A|Club), all I expect is the additional 'status' point earn - anything else that may happen I treat as a bonus.

The automatic response to any request I have made for an upgrade is always "nothing available" regardless of how far in advance it is requested. You may be lucky, though, so just keep on asking.

I'm just happy for a few extra points and a couple of free drinks. If you expect only that, you shouldn't be disappointed.

The only thing a platinum is entitled to under the rules is for some extra bonus points (given it is a Novotel).

Having said that, as a gold I have had suite upgrades, and other times got exactly what I booked. So, I'd say you're in with a chnace of an upgrade, but it may not come off.

I've checked in here tonight and as a reasonably regular visitor to this hotel, I'd say don't expect anything. Most of the time you get nothing - it's a Novotel after all - however I did get given a bottle of wine Tonight - but I think that's because of being a regular guest here.
