Well, a fair few flights this year, and four sectors that have/will be flown in J will thankfully have me leaving the QPNB prison for a while - and moving on up to QPPS in less than thirty days.

I've flown nine segments so far this year, 2x of these in JQ *class (MEL-SYD/SYD-OOL). Adding in five further segments, including 2x in CX J - I'll be on 430SC before the end of next month.

There's also a good chance I could make SG in the following 12 months considering I'll only need 270SC to hit that target.

I'll be hitting PS somewhere between ICN and HKG, meaning my last two flights will be with my new status (and hopefully displayed on the QF BP out of SIN).

It would have been nice to qualify PS first time last year, but I was still 160SC short and didn't have the cash for some east coast J segments to fill the gap.

So all in all, I'm quite happy with myself - but I couldn't have reached even this small personal milestone without the members and frequent contributors to AFF.

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank fellow forum members who's insights, advice and stimulating discussion I have always found very valuable (and some of them whom I've enjoyed the pleasure of meeting in person). In particular anat0l, Leumas, straitman, drron, markis10, serfty, NM, samh004, JohnK, Hvr, Flashware, medhead, nlagalle, munitalP, and Lindsay Wilson.

There's many more of you I'd like to thank, I just can't remember all your usernames - so please don't feel left out or under appreciated if I missed you.

I look forward to many more years of learning from you all, and hopefully sharing whatever I can so we can screw the airlines out of as much as possible for our loyalty. Many thanks.

yes well said, we need to maximise our return on our loyalty.

You are limited somewhat basing yourself in Perth but if you want to you will achieve what you want.

When i was doing the weekly run to the east, a simple case of booking say K class tickets doubled my SC earn for little more money, in some cases. It is a case of training your employer or agent. I always said I needed more flexibility as the leverage. Not sure if your situation is similar
.

Cheers

SRUCE.

Well done! Congratulations.

I'm a bit shocked at the thanks. Normally, I'm just an argumentative sod. But I'm very glad to have been of help.

Especially, As I escaped the QPNB prison last member year and have become a total W this member year. As with you that would never have been achieved without the hlep of all on AFF, including yourself.

I never thought of it being a prison until the Mrs was cut to NB and it was goodbye to seat selection unless she was tagging along with me.
Any seat produced a profound change in her comeback.
Do you think lifetime QC will ever be offered again? I think that has been one of our best moves ever. One of my sons was too young to take up the deal and then it got cut.
Silver together with J seats has us pretty happy but I still remember the Platinum documents coming in the mail and I did enjoy the recognition.

Well done and i am glad to have helped in someway!! Hopefully see a SG next to your name soon!:p

Congratulations! You've had a very tumultuous year according to your posts. Enjoy and keep up the contributions as this newbie has enjoyed them ;)

Hear hear! For someone who contributes much to this and other forums it is good to see you get some rewards.

Agreed & thanks for putting everything back into perspective :D

Congrats - looking forward to reading about the onwards journey to SG. :)

Onward and upward!

Now if ex PER flights in DOM were awarded SC's in exact proportion to mileage, we would find it a lot easier to make status.

Sadly, my agency is so 'broke' I've not seen any training or travel available for the last three years. We're also like most other Govt. agencies and subjected to the hated best fare of the day rules, plus we have to use a designated travel management company and can't book air travel ourselves (despite my purchasing card having the permission and the credit limits to cover it 20 times over)

My housemate having recently qualified PS is loving those seat selection benefits as he always used to get pathetic seat assignments.

I've found however given my flying pattens and increased SC's over the last three years, QF's altea black box has always given me great seat allocation without needing PS. Even when checking in, there always seems to an even better seat offered then the one I scored with constantly using OLCI in the lead up to departure.

I'm sure many of us wish they would, even for a small window of time to longtime members (something like 10-15yrs+). Don't see it happening sadly, otherwise I'd jump on the chance.

I look forward to it as well. Bring on seat selection and jumping the queue with future US trips.

Thanks, glad to see you've enjoyed my posts and I do my best to be as helpful as possible whenever I can. And yes, it has been a bugger of a year all things considered but karma always pays out in the end.

Thanks, and I got your PM regarding that opportunity at SYD I posted on some months back. Nice to see it paid out handsomely.

Congrats - looking forward to reading about the onwards journey to SG. :)
You will, I'm planning the TR for my Asian trip next month as we speak. Don't know if it'll reach the lofty standards set by drron with his Europe & US trips that he's posted on recently - as they are gold standard in my book.

Another thing for the wish list - reckon Red Roo might be able to arrange this???

Good on you thewinchester. I am breaking my silence to congratulate you, to say thanks for the PM and to also say thanks to a level headed member of AFF.

Mate you have done me proud.I do my TRs as my record of travel.Because I am fortunate enough to be able to undertake well paying casual jobs I can continue to travel.I do hope that some of the lessons i have learnt might also help others. To hear this praise is humbling.
Many thanks for the PM.You have me in great company that i am sure i dont deserve.
All the best to you-I am sure with what you are learning here will open up that great big world for you.Confidently expect to read of your obtaining WP,maybe AA EXP or heaven forbid *A gold if the benefits of OW continue to erode.

Congrats thewinchester here's hoping the bad luck is behind you and SG or even WP is ahead.

Happy travels with the new status.

Well done thewinchester, a small but significant milestone, and I'm sure once this hurdle has been cleared the future ones will come easier!

PS. did that aggro motorcyclist ever cop his right whack?

Thanks, and karma is on the way to bite him.

Thanks to all the evidence available, it looks like they'll be charging him with five separate offences covering assault, wilful damage, and traffic. No excuse for what he did to that poor kid, and it's good to see he'll get what he deserves.

Congrats!

Finally catching up after a very long weekend ;)

I got there myself earlier this month, though hadn’t planned to until the end of next month, but those lower requirements were useful, although I still haven’t received a card or membership pack, haha ;)

Certainly is, and thx for the update.

well done,

I wanted to PM you about your accumulation of points and credits given your line of work but I am not allowed to yet as I have only posted a few things. Was this written into your contract?
