Just received a package in the mail from Qantas with 1 page letter summary and glossy colour brochure on the new SYD and MEL First lounges.

I would assume that they are sending this to all WP's.

Bit surprised that this wasn't sent closer to the actual opening of the lounges .

Considering all of the other forms of lounge promotion to date, seems like a waste of money.

What I found odd about the glossy brochure was that the page that is about the in flight seating, has Business Skybed in it ; given it being all about a shiny Flounge, I would have expected them to have been advertising the F cabin

Which begs the question: which cabin are Floungers most likely to sit in? I had suspected J, their gaining access to the Flounge by virtue of tier status.

Pure speculation on my part, however.

I wonder if this is a MEL and SYD-centric mailout...

Then again, mail from SYD to BNE does often take another day to arrive.

Certainly no sign of it this side of the country.

Hmmm. Takes even longer to get to me and I live in SYD....

None here; last Thursday I received my month WP statement in the mail, nothing else ... not even the Frequent Flyer news letter.

I am wondering if anyone, who has already visited a new QF FLounge, has received the brochure… possible redundancy. Maybe, QF thinks it doesn't need to promote the new lounge experience, to someone who has already experienced it?

Unless it's only for those pax who have flown F via SYD or MEL in the last year? Will know more when I check my mail on Monday.

The brochure came separately to the monthly statement

I visited the SYD F Lounge a few days after it opened, so this does not seem to be a criteria for the mail out.

Okay, ta…

So next question is – has any Platinum member, who HAS NOT travelled on a paid (ooops, I think KiwiFlyer taught me to say “revenue”) QF International J or F ticket, received the brochure? (i.e. maybe QF targeting a "premium" sub category of Platinum?)

I did receive one of these nice white glossy brochures on Monday.

perhaps they have various versions of the brochure, and the one being sent to WP members is on the assumption that the WP members will be travelling in J.

I was also surprised to see the sky bed.

In my very first post after a couple of weeks of lurking, in answer to d15.in.oz, I received the brochure and have not travelled in Qantas International J or F since the new first class lounges opened. That said, I have travelled in both classes before...

great site by the way folks...
