Due to a strategic connection, we will be at a loose end in London for the night. We land at noon and fly out at 1020 the next day. We are staying at HH T5* so will be looking at heading in and out on the HEX.

Anyone up for dinner/drinks on a school night? This will be my friend's first visit to Old Blighty, so dare I suggest "something iconic". Without being OTT, of course.

*[-]Once I book it, that is![/-] Booked!

Count me in as interested.

Iconic yet not over the top. Hmm, have to think about this one!

Should be OK for this.

Strada is a good option, on the Thames and has a great view over the lit up Tower Bridge. It's a good solid Italian restaurant. Friendly on the wallet too!

Just bumping this as it's a month away. Anyone else interested?

Strada would be a good choice, although if we could get one of the nice tables here, it likewise has great views. Doggetts Coat & Badge

The menu at Doggetts Coat and Badge looks great. I reckon it fits the 'iconic' requirement very well. Would you mind booking a table for 6 pax (hoping we get more takers) for whatever time suits?

I'll get onto this tomorrow :) Let's go for 7pm (unless anyone objects), and I don't know how I missed this update!

Mal is such an AFF social butterfly....how many AFFers as he had drinks / dinner with in London?! I have caught up with him in London twice this year!

I've lost count :) But do enjoy catching up with people when they're over here!

I think it might be three times for me this year, including a couple of very pleasant Concorde Room breakfasts. (He thinks I am doing him a favour but in reality it is great to catch up with someone when you are on the back to back routine out of LHR.)

I'm afraid I'm not going to make this tonight due to work commitments - have fun though! It's literally a stone's throw from the office I just moved out of on Friday, too.

Also should remind people it's booked for 7pm :

Thank you for booking at Doggett's Coat & Badge. We are pleased to confirm your a la carte Dinner booking on Monday 28 November 2016 for 6 people at 19:00. We will be seating you in the Restaurant

After a lovely afternoon enjoying the fabulous weather, Sharon and I have arrived for a pre dinner drink downstairs. So anyone who wants to skip school early is welcome to join us in the bar.
