I'm trying to work out how many points I need for a one-way ticket in business class flying LHR-HKG on QF and then HKG-SYD in business on CX.

Trying to do dummy bookings doesn't seem to want to bring up CX flights.

The QF online tool seems not to have access to CX flights. The number of points required without a stopover would be, I believe, 139,000 points . With a stopover it would be 84,000 to HKG and 65,000 to SYD = 149,000

Thanks for that. I found it frustrating that the CX flts aren't offered for online redemptions.

LHR-HKG would require 84,000 FF points (Zone 7) and HKG-SYD would require 65,000 FF points (Zone 5 partner award). So a total of 149,000 FF points with a stopover and more than likely they will waive the 2,500 assisted booking fee.

With no stopover then I think this would require 139,000 FF points (Zone 10 partner award).

That may be optimistic. My last 2 Award bookings have included flights that were not available on the website and none of the various phone consultants would entertain waiving the points fee for phone bookings. Status or sheer persistence my help, but I wouldn't be surprised if they play hard-ball.

It's all part of the scheme to devalue points by any means possible ....

Cheers,

Andrew
