LHR-MEL in J for $1888 return on Air China

Air China is having a "Black Friday" sale for long-haul flights departing Europe in both Economy and Business. I've found London to Melbourne for GBP1130 ($1,888) in J return. Other deals are available for departures from Germany and other European destinations. Fares to MEL, SYD and AKL available. Minimum stay of 7 days.

That's a cracking fare. Even exFRA it's pretty amazing.

Is the UK flight bookable? The linked webpage says the departure window is 8/12/17 ONLY. But when trying to perform a dummy booking on that day it says the departure is too early.

Some part of that is clearly an error. Tickets can usually only be booked one year in advance. From what I can gather availability is quite limited, and I expect little or no availability around CNY... perhaps even until well into FEB if award availability is any indicator.

The other fares have a valid frmo date sometime in early Jan 2017. I'd expect London to be something similar.

Am still getting the same error message that flightobserver mentioned above; "Departure date is too early." BUT, it's not actually possible to change the departure date (all dates aside from 8 Dec are "greyed out"). So can't book the fare.
What's going on CA? :-|

Should also work for departures from other European cities if you can't get the LHR pricing to work.
