LHR-MEL Mixed CX F and J

Hi

I am looking at a QF classic award and have been offered CX in F from LHR to HKG on a 777 and then J HKG to MEL on the A330.

How good is CX F compared to EK and QF F and is 199K points and $379.00 in fees and charges good value.

Look forward and thank you for any feedback and thoughts. :)

All three airlines offer a completely different product F. I'd say they are all in the same category - tier 2. Each has their pros and cons. I'd probably rank CX slightly better overall than QF - caviar, good amenities and consistent (good) service. EK has the showers and bar. QF, on a good day, probably has the better service, and the food will be better (minus the caviar).

CX business - wins for the bed over the others, but loses on the food, and no bar (EK).

If you can get EK or QF F for the whole way through to Australia that would trump a mixed class F/J CX combo - no matter how good CX F is on the ex LHR flight.

Re: LHR-MEL Mixed CX F and J

CX is a clear winner over QF - IMO

Earlier this year we did CX F CDG-HKG ... CX J HKG-BNE - great combo!
