G'day folks,

I am returning from Heathrow at the end of March on an award J ticket.

On my desired day of travel, I have the following options.

BA15 LHR-SYD direct on the B777
QF FRA-SYD (with a BA flight to connect from LHR) on the B747.

I believe the odds are not in my favour to experience the New Club World on the 777 based on the BA deployment schedule.

Any suggestions - should I go with QF via FRA?

Cheers :D

Does the J award include the LHR-FRA segment? If so, perosnally, i'd go QF for the better J calss and not risk old J seat on BA given the duration of flights. I guess if you want to get back quickest and easiest, but not worried about which seat you get, take the BA 777.

I would take the BA flight; even the not quite as new Club World is still a far nicer fully flat bed than QFs slopeybed

As the LHR-FRA is simply a transit (under 24hours) then yes.

No rush getting home as this is probably the last time in many years I'll get to experience long haul J.

Thanks for your advice docjames. :)

The only downside about the BA J seat is the IFE and empower ports for laptop power.

Personally I would take the more direct flight and the BA seat - especially as the BA seat is lie flat so is better for sleeping.

If wanting to sleep, I would go via FRA. I sleep better on a wide sloping Skybed than I do on a narrow BA NNCW seat.

Note that it may cost slightly more with the FRA option due to increased

charged for the additional segment.

Bugga - as I was just about to make the change my original amendment (on BA10) was just reissued in the last 10mins with my FF account now showing 800 points.

Fingers crossed the 777 comes with the New CW product!

Oh well always next time :)

Look out for my TR come late Feb!

Not really a bad outcome - as you can see the replies are 50/50 for the two.

Make sure you report back how you found the trip.:)

I would have taken the QF option as i like the skybeds for sleeping more than old or new club world. But if not actually sleeping you wont notice the difference... maybe a better breakfast on BA :)

Will do - I am actually flying over direct on QF29 in J so I'll still get to experience the Skybed.

Cheers :p

Hi all,

Just an update - I'm now flying back on the BA747 which means the New CW product :D.
