Does anybody know if travelling on Loganair gives you the same points as if it were BA metal? (Obviously booked with BA flight number).

They're not listed seperately in the QF airline earnings table, but as a franchise of BA (you can even book them on RTW fares) I would assume you would get some points. They're pretty much the National Jet equivalent.

I can only assume they treat it as BA mainline. Anybody flown them recently?

Mind you I heard they are not renewing the contract and will develop into a seperate airline, although will still codeshare with BA.

Also, did you used to earn status credits on Aer Lingus?

According to the Qantas T&C's, yes this is an eligible flight for both QF points and SC's.

However, both myself and another poster here have been having a huge disagreement with a third party at another forum over whether you will earn points or not.

In my view, yes you will earn them. If not posted automatically, then call Qantas and get them to correct the posting.

The T&C's would have the clause "Points and Status Credits are not earned on joint venture flights or Codeshare Flights operated by airlines other than oneworld ™ Alliance Airlines." if you were not to be able to earn SC's/points.

Regarding Aer Lingus, yes you used to be able to earn SC's/points from them - although most of my flights with them were in fare buckets so cheap that they never credited. Aer Lingus left OneWorld around 6+ months ago, so they are no longer a SC earning partner of Qantas.

Well, I know it is not a BA (non-OW) codeshare, but when flying on Asiana (a *Alliance airline) on a QF number, I can verify that you do indead earn miles, cabin and status bonuses as well as SCs. I may have well been flying in QF metal as far as my QFF Account is concerned. I would expect the same would apply with BA flight numbers on Loganair metal.

Travel on a QF flight number on an aircraft operated by any carrier and, so long as it is "eligible†" and NOT operated by Jetstar, you will earn points and SC's with the QFF program.

9.3.1 ... Points for air travel may be earned only for paid travel on regular scheduled flights where a Qantas flight number ... is entered on the itinerary ("Eligible Flight").
