Hey All,

My folks are planning on coming out to Brisy to visit their new grandson in a few months, and since they are getting on a bit, they can no longer face a 24 hour through flight all the way in Y. the last few times they have been, they have stopped in KL or BKK for a night or two to recover, but this time, they are short on time, and don't want to waste half their fortnight on stopovers.

They are looking for a J class option that will come in somewhere around GBP2000 per person. Cathay seems to be the cheapest I can find, but this comes in at around 3k. I've suggested they fly LHR-HKG in J then fly HKG in Y, but it is hard to work out the cost for this, or if it can even be ticketed this way - LHR-HKG in J is the same price as LHR-HKG-BNE in J if you look on the cathay site.

I've also looked at premium Y, but it's not widely available into BNE, and they don't want to have to transfer through SYD.

Any thoughts on sensible options for getting them here?

Thanks, Dan.

LHR-HKG in J, overnight, HKG-SYD in Y+?

They may also find Y/Y+ easier if it's a daytime flight in that scenario (which CX offers).

If they can depart from MON to WED and return from TUE to THUR they can take AY RT in J for about GBP2517

Many more option flying into SYD or even MEL compared to BNE
Any of the old legacy airlines: Cathay, Qantas, Singapore, will likely be expensive
Look at the gulf airlines: Emirates, Qatar, Eithiand
Or Asian airlines, Malaysian, Thai, Southern china[?], China Eastern, (GBP2000 into SYD at fc) , Eva Air (2300 to BNE at fc )
Others: Virgin Atlantic, Royal Brunei, Finnair (mixed Y-C)

Look at http://www.trailfinders.com/ ?
http://flights.trailfinders.com/Business/Brisbane GBP 2389
http://flights.trailfinders.com/Business/Sydney
http://flights.trailfinders.com/Business/Melbourne

Or even http://www.flightcentre.co.uk/ (errrg) to get prices

I found some good results through skyscanner last time I was looking to head to UK.

With the Olympics on around that time it might be tough to get a cheap business class fare. One of the Chinese carriers is probably cheapest, although you might not get a direct route. Or you could hold out hope that an airline has a 2 for 1 companion special.

I will have one of trailfinders tickets ie. dublin to melbourme for $4475 J return on Eithad but I want to go the other way!! LOL! ohh yes thats $7600 thank you sir!
