LONE4 woes and LAN Customer query

I tried to use the online booking tool to book a LONE4 just a few days ago.

I checked my trip this morning and it turns out that my first leg, AKL-SYD has been cancelled. After enquiring with Qantas about it (LAN is the ticketing carrier, but QFF is my main FFP), they said it was due to non-payment. So I ended up calling LAN and they confirmed that for whatever reason, the ticket had not been paid for, so they cancelled the first leg (and I assume they will cancel the subsequent legs) and they said they can't do anything about it and I had to call LAN Santiago (head office). After 10 minutes of being on hold, I decided I will try again tomorrow. I've called up my CC company and they said nothing had been declined on their end, so I'm also a bit confused as to the whole online booking tool reliability.

Now I guess I am wondering what other people's experiences are with regard to a) the online booking tool and b) LAN customer service, both domestically (and what they are empowered to do) and Head Office in Chile.

Let me know!

Can't offer any solutions for you, but will just say it is very frustrating when you are trying to give people money and for whatever reason they won't take it, or make it difficult to do. Have never used the online booking tool to actually comlete and pay for a booking. The couple of xONE4s I've booked have both been done over the phone with AA, without issue. I found the tool was useful to check potential routings and L/D class availability, and build an itinerary before making the phone call to AA so the booking is made quickly and efficiently. Good luck sorting out your issues.
