I've got some materials that will be a shade over 2.4 metres long to take on a domestic DJ flight. I was wondering what the maximum length of a package that is allowed.

Looking at the website I can see that they allow "sporting equipment" up to 2.77 metres. I'm guessing that would apply to anything, not just skis or whatever that length is meant to cover.

This is from the Virgin site.

Baggage allowance and excess baggage | Virgin Australia
Maximum Length of Baggage Items

Virgin Australia and Pacific Blue fly a number of different aircraft types, all of which have slightly different operational limitations which affect the weight and size of baggage the aircraft can carry.

Aircraft - A330, 737-800, 737-700, Embraer 190, Embraer 170
3.00 meters in length

ATR 72 - 500
1.8 meters in length

Virgin Australia and Pacific Blue will make all reasonable efforts to transport oversized items on the same flight as you, but we cannot guarantee that this will be the case.

Thanks for that. So slightly longer than the skis etc.

Now I've just got to get it to the airport on the train!
