Hi all,
Wondering if anyone in the community here has a heads up on some upcoming sale fares to Europe, Amsterdam being actual destination.

I nearly got caught out booking an airfare last year just days before those $600 SIA sale fares came out, so thought I'd ask the experts here in the forums if they know anything before I book again :D

Travel is August this year (2010).

Manny thanks in advance :)

Now sure which departure city you are in,

at the moment MH (malaysian airline) is doing special from MEL<=>KUL,
about $564 return all inclusive... which is very cheap...

once in KUL, you can get another ticket from KUL<=>AMS using MH or other airlines, otherwise Airasia X KUL<=>LHR then LHR<=>AMS is another option....

if you are lucky you can get AAX KUL<=>LON for about $600 AUD return...
which makes the total to ~$1200 AUD..

Cheers for the reply, I'll check out the availability of AAX, $1200 is pretty good, but KLM are doing it for about $1800 inc taxes for that travel period ex Brisbane (where I am), minus the drama of trying to co-ordinate connecting flights etc.

Its not a bad price I guess (The KLM one), but if anyone has any knowledge of a similar sale like occurred mid last year (granted it was exceptional cirumstances for the airline industry!) - I'd be pretty stoked to hear about it :)

Cheers

I think we picked up SQ economy in April 09 (For Oct travel) for ~$1,500 BNE-AMS, J was $6k ish.

bestfligths.com.au usually has a good range which can then be booked through local agents.

Cheers for the reply :) SQ is a great airline, wish they would put on a deal like that again :D

$1800 inc taxes is an excellent fare, I wouldn't hold out as you're unlikely to get SQ or the like for that.

KLM dont put many seats into each of the lowest fare buckets, and are unable to be waitlisted, they literally just disappear, so you'd want to book it sooner not later.

Cheers, I am thinking I might take your advice on that - its still cheaper than any other fare I've found so far by about $500 :)
