Just a 3hr layover both ways.
This is SIGNIFCANT!
Normal flight time SYD to LAX direct is just under 14 hours.
Go via Nadi and add in your 3 hour stop over and the time for this flight is over 20 hours!
This is no different to travelling via AKL with Air NZ, something that many people do.
Plus, on most days all flights are on A330s (no 737/330 combo).
Personally I think this is a good deal.
Google disagrees. Says over 20 hours including the stopover as per my statement in message #4

Google says 17h 10m+ for the outbound and 19h 0m+ for the return trip. These times include the layover time in Nadi. Still not over 20 hours?
I still don't see the issue. Of course the travel time will be slightly longer with one stopover. The fare is also cheaper. If you prefer a shorter travel time, you can pay more for a direct flight.
If I wanted to go to LAX in Y (which I don't), this would be a very attractive fare. Not only is it 2-4-2 (no 3's) but I could have a few drinks in the lounge in NAN, and then only face a 10:45 hour flight to LAX. Those of you who prefer a 14 hour flight with very ordinary service should avail themselves of it.My mistake. Did not realise that google included stop over time. You would have seen that I deleted my post before you submitted your response. I still see a very significant different between 14 hours and 17 hours. The fare is not significantly cheaper so as to compensate for the time difference.
