Hey,

Im currently a QF SG which is due to expire June 30 next year.
i have an overseas trip booked with Qantas which ends with Dubai - Syd on Jul 1 and Syd - Adl on Jul 2.
Whilst I found a thread from 4 years ago, asking about this scenario, I was wondering if anyone had any more recent experiences with it.
I have a couple of other domestic flights booked but cannot be sure I will requalify for SG yet...

In general I'm concerned about baggage, as an SG I can take an extra bag but does that mean when I'm almost home they can say not anymore?

Obviously it would be good to be using the lounge on the way home too

Does anyone know if they still give complimentary gold for 3,6 months for people losing status? I had held SG for the last 2 years.

Is there a chance I could lose my preselected seats on the way home?

Thanks all for your help!

You should get comp QP access for I think three months. It normally takes a few days for status to disappear. However I wouldn't bank on access or luggage.
