I'm interested to know if this has happened to anyone else? I was worried I was going to lose Gold status as I havent flown much in the past year due to pregnancy/young baby. My account was due to be revised on 30 August so I was delighted when I checked a few days later and found that I was still gold, with the date for reevaluation now set for August 2009. However, another week or so down the track and they have now amended it so I now silver. Is this common, that they change the status after the reassessment date? Very frustrating as I was so pleased to have kept it!

Hi Ladybord,

Yes, it appears this is the way QFF do this - perhaps waiting for a few days to see if any late SC's post to retain status.

There are good threads on this topic here in the forum, I have not the time to search for you.

One piece of good news reported in these threads is that you will still have access to QP when traveling for another three months or so.

Serfty is correct. They seem to wait for a week or so to see if any partner airline flights post before actually changing your status. The process seems to take a couple of sweeps at different times to complete, starting with the roll-over of the re-evaluation date, and ending with the setting of your status for the next membership year.

Yep, exact same thing just happend to me. I had written them a letter about a month earlier explaining my past & future travel plans but didn't get a response & was demoted a week or so after expiry like you. The free QC entry was handy at the few odd times I wasn't rushing just in time to catch the flight but the other minor benefits I found rather meaningless given the low value of QF points these days.
