I'm planning on flying to Sydney from Melbourne Tulla on Jetstar which departs from the international terminal. I am a gold frequent flyer and wondered if this still allowed me access to the international first lounge even though I will be flying to a domestic destination.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

thanks

Unfortunately QFF Gold does not entitle you to access the Qantas First Lounge. Platinum is required for this. However, you are able to use the Qantas Business Lounge.

Thanks for the advice Danger. However, from memory I only saw one lounge at the MEL international terminal when I last flew overseas and I thought that this was a First lounge - please correct me if I'm wrong!! Its just that I've heard rave reviews about the international lounge but if I cant access it I might just fly from domestic and avoid the extra security checks!

There are 2 Melbourne International lounges - a Business lounge and a First lounge.

The First Lounge is upstairs, away from the other lounges, The international Business Lounge in MEL is not bad, but I would not bother with the extra hassle of departing from the international terminal just to attend it. The F Lounge is a different matter :), but its a pity you don't have access.

Was in the F lounge on a JQ flight on Tuesday - mmmmm nice breakfast of eggs benedict with salmon, fresh OJ and a pot of tea... what a nice way to start the day...

If only I could travel at 9am to SYD instead of having to be there at 9am more frequently - Flounging would take place more frequent...

To the OP

The security is no different - there is just an extra line to join to get your D stamped at each end, you use the APEC line, adds a few extra seconds to your day at each end... IMO less crowded and the lounges are far far better than DOM (yes even the J lounge)
