Hi folks,

I'm flying home next week with a good few hours to kill in Denpasar - having experienced the joys of the DPS domestic terminal for 4 hours yesterday, I'm trying to figure out if there's a reasonable lounge I can get into on the international side... So, to summarise, situation is as follows:

Flying from Surabaya to Bali on Garuda, then home to Brisbane on DJ. I'm QF SG and Velocity gold (thanks to a status match), but from what I can figure out so far, neither of those are going to help me.

Can anyone recommend a decent lounge that'll let me pay for access in INT DPS? Or even a comfy (read - properly air conditioned!) bar?

Cheers,

Danny

I will leave the lounge suggestions to someone that has been there, but I would suggest keeping a close eye on your flights as DPS flights are all over the place at present with the Volcanic Ash issues.

Yeah, absolutely. Seems to be OK right now, hopefully it stays like that for another week at least!

HUNDREDS of Qantas and Jetstar passengers are facing delays after services between Australia and Indonesia were disrupted by ash spewing from the nation's most active volcano.

Qantas cancelled a Sydney-Jakarta return service due to the Mount Merapi volcano, which has killed 191 people since it began erupting late last month, emitting ash and heat clouds.
The conditions also prompted the carrier's low-cost offshoot Jetstar to change its flight schedule for services to the Indonesian island of Bali, cancelling flights that arrive at or depart from the popular holiday destination at night.

Oh goody, I hadn't heard about that set of cancellations... Thanks!

There are a few lounges in DPS international. The Sanur Lounge and Prada Lounge aren't mentioned there, but they're very basic.

I think that you can access the Dewa Lounge with Priority Pass, or pay around 100,000 IDR (~12 AUD).

If the state of the lounges in Jakarta are anything to go by, then I would say that it's not worth it...

If it's only ~$12 for the Dewa Lounge I would be happy to pay it. It's not the best lounge in the world but it's quite reasonable and certainly a huge improvement on not being in the lounge.

Just to report back, I ended up paying for the Prada lounge, as it was reasonably close to my gate (can't remember exactly how much, but converted it was somewhere around the AUD10 mark). Nothing too exciting, but definitely more comfortable than sitting around the terminal.

Food was actually pretty reasonable - wifi was available but so slow as to be unusable (not just annoyingly slow, slow enough that I couldn't really get data across a TCP connection). Bathroom facilities were.... Well, not bad for Indonesia, but not what I would hope for in an airport lounge!

Hope that helps someone else in the same basket as me.
