As frequent flyers I suspect many of you, like me, get tired of the same old lounge fare week in, week out.

Hoping for something new is one option (but you can have a lot of disappointing visits before the occasional pleasant surprise).

Another option is to play what I like to call Lounge Masterchef and make something new from the ingredients and appliances provided.

So here's a thread where we can swap 'recipes'. I'll start:

VA lounge Thai soup poured over a bed of the cold quinoa 'salad'. Topped with crushed kettle chips (lime and pepper works well if available).

QF J lounge green curry with added sweet potato from the salad bar - try it on a bed of baby spinach leaves instead of rice.

Flatbread from the bread basket and hommus from the salad bar, olives and cucumber if available, makes a lovely Mediterranean plate.

Delish and nutritous. Good suggestions, you obviously do wonderful things with left overs at home ;).

A little embarrassing, but I look forward to making a ham and pineapple toasted sandwich in the lounge. Maybe adding a little bit if chutney if it is available. Certainly not fine dining, but I like it. It's amazing how I can't remember what I usually eat in the lounge. Happen to be there enough times.

VA lounge - lay slice of cheese on top of ham slice, spread chutney on top of cheese slice - roll up.

Pretty basic one from me and sure to result in health problems later in life, but when there's a pancake machine available I'll layer slices of butter and syrup between the pancakes. So rich and lovely tasting :)

I hope to contribute a better recipe in the future ;)

Pineapple is a nice addition to the good ol' toastie. I feel like that would be appropriate next time I visit Qld.

pancake, syrup, pear

I'm intrigued by the OP's suggestion - crushed kettle chips sounds like a great texture on top

Great stuff QuickDry, I tried it this morning....

Pancakes, poached pears, drizzled in maple syrup and passionfruit pulp with a dollop of yoghurt.

With the fruit it even seems healthy!

Pancakes with greek yoghurt on top (sometimes with muesli), and drizzled with honey. Delish!

I look forward to the breakfasts in the Qantas J lounge!

My usual is nothing great, but best of a bad situation IMO.

Ham, cheese, pineapple, tomato with chutney, toasted sandwich.
