Hi all

I have just checked my velocity account and I have two single use AMEX lounge vouchers that are going to expire in September 2017.

I am not sure but I think I was given these for signing up for the NAB Velocity Platinum card.

I have some questions.

First how do you use the vouchers? Someone one said to me that you can activate the vouchers somehow and you get sent a voucher that has 12 months validity from date of activation? Is this correct?

Secondly, I am booked to fly MEL-SYD-NOU and back in April 2018. Can I use the vouchers at MEL, SYD or NOU? I know SYD has/had an AMEX lounge but I am not familiar with whether they have anything at MEL or NOU.

Do you need to show the credit card you got the vouchers through when you use them? Chances are I will have switched credit cards by April next year.

Finally I will be flying Qantas/Aircalin. Does this mean I can't use the Amex lounge?

cheers Peter

Simply present your credit card at the front desk and they will swipe you in. No need to activate.

There is only a lounge in SYD, it's nice but very small.

The airline you are flying does not matter with the AMEX lounge pass. You do not receive a physical pass. As Chesty says, just show your credit card that the pass relates to and they will allow access.

Only in SYD T1 for AMEX

Is it a Velocity lounge pass (bestowed by Amex) or an AMEX lounge pass specifically for SYD? I have two Velocity lounge passes ("Amex lounge voucher") but don't think they could be used at the AMEX lounge in SYD - only at VA lounges.

Also, I don't think your card provides access to the AMEX lounge in SYD.

If your passes expire in Sep 17, they'll be of no use in Apr 18.

Not sure. Not a big problem anyway. I am sure I will sign up for anther card with free lounge passes by next April.

Good point Happy Dude. I just assumed the correct pass was being discussed..
