I will start a US trip as PS (oneworld silver) and by the end will be WP, although a lot of that depends on AA SCs crediting to my account - normally how long do AA flights take?

All my domestic segements are in AA First. Do I gather that means I will always be entitled to 3x 23kg bags checked in?

Also what allowance will they apply when I go to LAS and try to check in (on separate bookings): AA F LAS-LAX, FJ J LAX-NAN, FJ Y NAN-SYD, QF Y SYD-MEL?

On a similar vein to the AA crediting scenario, I'm flying MEL-SYD-NAN-LAX-DFW-AUS in one hit. The LAX-DFW flight in F will take me to SG and therefore should entitle me to Admirals Club access. What are my chances of convincing the AAngels at DFW to allow me into the lounge, seeing as though it will likely not be that quick for the SCs to credit?

Points and SCs can take anywhere upwards from 1 day.

When travelling dom F, you will get 2x23 bags to check in without charge:

American Airlines Checked Baggage Charge Exceptions | AA.com

A third piece under 23kg will attract a $150 fee.

I'm not sure about the 4 separate PNRs - they may not be able to tag them all the way to MEL (be prepared for that).

As for your chances at the DFW A/C, don't expect it but try and explain and you may be lucky :)

If they get to NAN then that's fine - I have a long layover there. But re-checking in LAX would be a pain.

Ah thanks, looks like the Aus site is clearer in stating what is allowed - I missed the part on the US site that says:

Attention First and Business Class Customers

We are pleased to offer customers in First and Business Class the ability to check three bags at no charge when traveling on American or connecting with British Airways or Iberia.

So yes, 3x 32kg is complimentary.

I think there is a rule about which carrier's allowance you follow if you are doing a multi-sector itinerary on different metal, something about the segment that takes a majority of your flight will be the one which will be applied to the entire itinerary, but I'm not too sure on the details on that (could be completely wrong)

There are issues updating QF status from the original booking. Confirm your number is at least in the system.

There are other threads on this issue, have a hunt.
