So we just booked multi trip with AA.com from

Mel - DFW and then LAX - Mel,

All the flights are all code share on QF metal

Looking at the booking i cannot see how much luggage allowance i get.

I'm a Qantas Gold FF and i added that into the booking on AA.com and i see it now
under my bookings on Qantas.com, i can even select seats.

But when i click baggage it says no baggage and to buy upto 2 bags at $123 each.

I called AA and they said all transpacific fares get 2 bags at 23 kilos..

Given i have gold with Qantas this allows 3 x bags at 23kg or if you look
at AA.com its equiv to sapphire which i think includes the 2 bags..

Im not sure who to trust here.

The funny thing is i had to add another booking for my infant daughter and hers is a new
booking and hers lists 2 x bags at 23kg..

Very confused..

Help me Obi Wan Kenobi..

you should get the 2 bags at 23kg at least for Mel - DFW and then LAX - Mel for every passenger with a seat,
from experience, try ringing three of four times and speak to different agents,
agents (and sometimes the booking interfaces themselves) often get confused over issues such as this.

Your ticket should be endorsed with the baggage allowance. Not sure how AA sends the eticket out though - is it a PDF like Qantas? Manage My Booking should, but doesn't always pick it up.

No,

There is nothing in the documents i was emailed which says anything about the baggage limits ..

If you are ticketed on the AA codeshare on the first flight (be it MEL-LAX or MEL-SYD), then AA's policy applies as per the US DoT exemption to IATA 302. AA's transpacific policy is identical to QF's which is 2 x 23kg in Y per passenger.

The non ticketed QF elite allowances (1 extra 23kg piece in your case) don't apply as you are not flying on QF codes.

The issue of the baggage allowance not copying across from Sabre (used by AA) to Amadeus (used by QF) has existed for quite some time. This is why the allowance doesn't show in QF MMB.
