Since when did November have 31 Days?
:lol::confused:

Oh no! Lumo was a big contributor to my participation in Velocity, and that 6p = $1 was very generous. Not that we use much energy but still a good bonus nonetheless.

Thanks.
No note/email from them to me, as I am a Lumo Energy customer in South Aust.
Going to bring my bill to AGL when my time is up, in about 9 months.

Lumo approached me 6 months ago to ask if we'd migrate our home and business to them. I said yes, but never heard back so forgot all about it. Last week, they called me to ask why I was leaving them. I was gobsmacked, as I'd never even received a bill from them. After much conversation, it turns out that I am, apparently with Lumo for the business plan, but not officially until AGL releases my contract via verbal approval from me. And AGL wasn't in a hurry to do that, so they kept quiet and didn't contact me.

To their credit, Lumo disclosed the (Velocity program) exit to me on Friday and said I could stay with AGL if this exit was a dealbreaker. They offered to honor the 3 year contract with Velocity points earn, plus the 10k signup bonus for each account.

Between home and work, I spend approx $6k on energy so I figure it is worth hanging out with Lumo for the next few years. The business points earn isn't as generous as the domestic earn, but hey - AGL isn't exactly doing me any favors at the moment.

I'll see where this Lumo relationship goes. I'll probably break up with them if it doesn't work out. But I'll say it's me - not them.

I had signed up with Lumo in July this year (my previous provider jacked up their prices as part of the deregulation on July 1), so I guess I'll stick around until about 2018 (or earlier if they become uncompetitive as well).

For anyone thinking of signing up to their velocity plans before they end on 31 Oct, entire you do the sums on the cost of the points - by comparing their price sheets for the velocity plans with those of their other available plans, such as lumo advantage, which gives you a x% discount for paying on time (the x varying by state). Base prices under most of their plans are the same, but the % discount doesn't apply to their velocity plan, so you're effectively buying (paying for) the velocity points at a rate equal to the discount you're not getting. When I did the sums base on my approx annual kW usage, even with the 10k sign up points as an extra sweetener, I was better going elsewhere (or perhaps going with one of Lumo's % discount plans). But each to to their own, and like most things, depends on what value/price you put on earning velocity points

This is a damn shame. Perhaps this should go down as an (un) enhancement. :mad: :mad:
