Hi,

My membership has unfortunately been on a downward trend from Platinum 2 years ago, to gold last year. I have simply not had to travel as much for work. My review date is in about 2 weeks and I will have made about 230 status credits worth of flights putting me on a trajectory towards Silver status this year. My work circumstances have recently changed and I will need to fly more frequently and I have a work trip coming up to Florida in November. I would love to have access to the lounge for the Florida trip.

In the past, on Qantas, I had a similar experience and I was able to write to QFF outlining my case to extend the Gold membership for another year and I got it extended. Can you do that with Velocity at all, or is my only option to accept that I will be Silver until I re-qualify with the extra travel now required?

Thanks!

They do have pilot gold that may be possible and I do wish you luck in your quest, but I must also admit that I hope VA does not go back to those times where they kept renewing status even though status targets were not reached (sometimes by huge margins). That devalues a FF program IMHO and often results in forced QF style "enhancements" (as we've seen at VA too).
