I have an MAS booking within Asia and thought I would input my QFF#. I can't, and my enquiries have led to the story (allegedly) that MAS had a cyber attack on FF#s being put in all active bookings. I am not sure if this is the case, but the FF# number section on 'My Booking' on the MAS website is blocked.

I rang MAS, who told me to call QF. QF told me about the cyber attack.

Is there an official version we can refer to MAS?

It's not a cyber attack.

It's a coordinated ring of scammers that has affected several airlines for some time.
Wait a few days and the MH website will let you update the FF#, or do it at check-in.

This is NOT MH-specific.
Many larger and better known airlines affected as well.

MH just handles it differently by not allowing any # updates for X period of time after the booking is made.

You need to contact the agent/site you made the original booking through to update the #.

Just make sure if you have the old 6-digit QF number, add a zero. I forgot to do it recently on one MA flight and I didn't get the SC's.
Are you sure? That's how I usually get the system to forget whatever FF number is in the booking.

Always check the boarding pass to see what card (if any) is attached

I always enter the leading zero on partner apps/websites to make sure it sticks. Many will actually show the zero when you call up the booking.

QR seems to be ground zero for scammers, using of all things - bogus VFF accounts. Don’t know if VA have done anything to close that loophole. But QR have pretty much locked down MMB to QR website and app only. They don’t load in any of the other Amadeus systems anymore.
