I thought I should do a review on this hotel because it is a recent Marriott addition and is less than 30 minutes by the slow train from Kyoto. It also gave me some hope that all is not lost in the recent merger.
First the room.

We had been upgraded to an onsen room on the top floor of rooms.

We love these Japanese rooms with the shower and tub in their own separate space. The onsen was great to soak in at the end of the day.The only problem is that it is continually running. We could not have slept with that noise. You have to ring to get it turned off then back on.
Great views over lake Biwa and the mountains. But there was some evidence of typhoon Jebi.
