Has anybody listed the mileage accruals of certain point to point locations in the states ?

SC's are awarded on mileage. If you go LGA to MIA it is 1197 miles, you only earn SC's at the 600 miles accrual not the 1200 rate

What would be handy is a list a sectors that just tip over into the next earning bracket, as opposed to most it appears just missing out!

Has anyone got a list of these prepared?

I know of no such prepared list, however you can use GCM to give you a bit of an idea.

Just copy this URL into your browser:

Code:
http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?R=600mi%40[B]NYC[/B]%2C1200mi%40[B]NYC[/B]%2C2400mi%40[B]NYC[/B]&MS=wls&MP=r&RC=red&RW=3&RS=shaded&DU=mi

Here, replace NYC with the IATA code of the airport you want to search around. You'll get a map showing the shaded ranges of 600mi, 1200mi and 2400mi corresponding to the first three SC zones from your airport of choice.

Here are a few to get you started:

SC Zones based around NYC

SC Zones based around DFW

SC Zones based around LAX

Since GCM distances and the actual base mileage credited can differ, it's always best to anticipate either scenario and factor that into your calculations. Generally the difference of distance is not more than 50 mi, but there is no way to tell (except through experience) whether the "error" is a positive or negative one.

Generally QFF are pretty accurate with thier deemed distances.

There are a few anomalies I am aware of.

When planning a trip I try to never fly direct. rather than fly JFK-SFO for 150SC in F I would look at going JFK-DFW-SFO for 240SC

A close study of the AA timetable in PDF format may well be worth your while, as "actual miles" are given for each pair of departure and arrival cities.
