I am trying to book a trip for a long weekend. My partner is already booked on an SQ flight out of SYD at 7:55am. Is there any way of VA allowing me to take VA897 (Last flight out of MEL the day before) and connect on that flight with an overnight transit? Or will that count as an extra stop?

I tried searching on VA and they don't seem to have that option available. The call centre guy just basically typed it up and said no. I have done overnight transit with SQ so I don't understand why that can't be possible. Would a TA be able to book that flight or can TA's only see what we see in the ITAMatrix?

Try a multiple city search on the VA website?

SQ SIN fares ex-MEL usually force you to take the non stop services, so you would need to book it as two tickets.
