Hi everyone-

I am hoping some of you guys have been to the US recently and can help me clarify the current meal service rules on American. I don't get to the US more often than maybe once a year so just want to make sure I don't end up with mixed nuts and nothing else. Believe it or not, I actually LOVE the food on AA first (nothing against those hot nuts, they're delicious too)!

Just want to make sure that I will get a normal meal on the below flights, before I go and book it in:

LAX-DFW-MCO should be both within the 'salad/entree then cookie' category according to what I can find online and on AA, is this correct? Do I get hot nuts before that as well?

And then MCO-MIA-DFW-AUS (I am obviously hunting status credits, hence that itinerary)- I will only get food on the MIA-DFW leg but that should also be the same salad/entree/cookie combination if I am not entirely wrong. I assume I still get full drink service on the 1 hour flights in F?

Thanks a lot for all your help and apologies again for double checking

Unless of course these flights depart after 8pm, there will be no entree. It seems now (based on an experience a couple of weeks ago, ORD-PHX, departing 20:24) you get a salad on the flights, but no cookie, whereas before it was only a cookie.

Wow, 8pm is a rather early cut off in my eyes! But I should be good, they're all leaving before that.

I can confirm you get drinks and a selection of snacks from the basket in F on the shorter flights. DFW to AUS is more like a 35 minute flight wheels up to wheels down.

Got jipped on all my AA F flights last couple of weeks. Only 1 out of 8 had nuts. Apparently they have changed the rules about when they serve them The only one I got it on was JFK-DFW. You don't get anything decent if it goes through CLT. cough planes with even worse food options. All the old US Airways cough. Avoid it like the plague.

Warning duly noted- thanks for the heads up. I won't be going through CLT
