Meet A Moderator, MEL Thu 13/9, dinner in CBD?

Okay, here comes my first trip to MEL this FY and got an overnighter, so time to lay out the welcome mat and have a dinner somewhere. I'm staying at DoubleTree on Flinders, so will just drop my bag and head to where we agree (with pre-dinner drinks for those that get there early).

Venue (confirmed): The Olive Tree Restaurant - Seafood & Steak Sth Melbourne (I'll book on Wednesday). From 6pm

As usual there’s about 50% chance I’ll be in my second home. No flights booked for that week so I’ll make an effort be in town on the day because we are clearly not able to meet in our hometown

Sure do.
Should be ok to attend but will check with TV when he gets off his flight. May also depend which day we have our house presentation, though I dont see any reason why we cant get back into the city.

I saw the original title to the thread with 14/9 and realised I might be able to make it provided I could get a babysitter. Then when I got to the thread I realised you were talking about Thursday 13/9 which I can't make. I've got an evening meeting connected to the volunteer work I do so I can't come into the city. If the meeting gets cancelled or moved I'll let you know.

My attendance at events is getting worse due to deteriorating health (as some members of this forum are acutely aware). Realistically I don't think I will work in Melbourne again this year, but a dinner is a possibility if the stars align... I've put it in my calendar.
